Balances contain a Status and Status Reason, which pair together to define its state.
Statuses

| active | Indicates that the balance is fully functional and operates as expected. | active |
| inactive | Indicates that the client has taken action to restrict activity on the balance. Lead does not run additional validations on inactive balances during daily reporting. However, clients are expected to take action on inactive balances according to their policies. | dormantfrozenother |

| receivable_transferred | Terminal status for credit balances only. Indicates that any outstanding receivable(s) on the balance has been transferred from Lead to the partner. A balance can be set to this status from active or inactive. After this status is set, omit the balance from all subsequent Balance Files.Use of this status is limited to specific use cases only.
