Upcoming ChangeWe’re updating return-related Instant Payments endpoints to align functionality across FedNow and RTP, including changes to supported return reasons and validation requirements. Partners using return request functionality must update their integrations before the changes are enforced in September 2026.πŸ‘‰ View Details
Lead offers Instant Payments as a single interface over two underlying rails: FedNow (live now) and RTP (Q4 2026). FedNow and RTP (Real-Time Payments) are operated by the Federal Reserve and The Clearing House, respectively. Both are U.S. domestic, credit-push, 24/7/365 networks that support payments up to $10 million per transaction that settle in seconds. Receivers on both networks must make funds available to the creditor immediately. Neither network supports payment reversals. Instead, return requests are used to attempt recovery of payments sent erroneously.
