The FedACH system, operated by the Federal Reserve, is an electronic payment network that processes Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions in the United States, clearing and settling payments through multiple processing windows each business day. Lead has a direct connection to the FedACH network. Use ACH when you need a low-cost, high-volume rail for recurring payments, payroll, loan disbursements, or consumer-initiated transfers where same-day or next-day settlement is acceptable. ACH is the only Lead rail on which a posted payment can later be returned; plan for returns as part of your integration, not as an exception. What you can do: send outgoing credits and debits with a delivery_type of same_business_day or next_business_day; receive incoming entries; cancel an outgoing entry while it is still cancellable; return incoming entries, reverse your own erroneous entries, and handle Notifications of Change. For outgoing ACH, Lead supports the CCD, PPD, TEL, WEB, and CIE SEC codes; incoming entries may additionally carry IAT for cross-border transactions; Lead does not originate outgoing IAT.
