This page covers details agnostic to network — subsequent pages cover specific requirements for each network.
If Lead Bank is a BIN Sponsor for your program, then Lead will need to perform network settlement. This is the process by which networks request funds for activity on their BINs. In order for Lead to fund and reconcile these requests, Lead requires certain data points and files.

BIN Sponsorship at Lead

NetworkDescription
PrimaryEvery BIN needs a primary network. Lead is a principal member of the following networks: - Visa - Mastercard - Amex
SecondaryDue to the Durbin Amendment Routing Rule, debit/prepaid BINs require a secondary network. This means that credit BINs only need a primary network and not a secondary network. Lead currently supports the following secondary networks: - Maestro - Interlink - Pulse - Star - Accel
Issuer ProcessorThis is the 3P vendor that you choose to work with to help process real-time transactions on the networks, along with other value-added services. These vendors typically have direct connections to the networks and send network reports to Lead.
Once the appropriate networks are chosen, you’ll work with Lead, the issuer processor of choice, and the network(s), to launch the BIN, which can take three or more months.
Push to CardIf Lead is processing transactions for or transactions on Lead’s acquiring BINs, the below guides are still relevant and applicable. Lead can support specific acquiring processors.
