# Funding Statuses

> Lifecycle of a v2 funding, what each status means, and how to tell when money has moved.

Lead manages every funding status. You create the funding. After that, Lead moves it from `processing` to `posted`, and you cannot change it.

## Lifecycle

## Statuses

| Status | Description | Notes |
| :- | :- | :- |
| `processing` | Lead accepted the funding and is moving the principal. | The amount counts against `max_funding_amount` on a `non_revolving` user credit balance. A funding can stay `processing` while Lead retries a temporary problem. |
| `posted` | The principal has reached the destination account number. Terminal. | `core_transaction_id` is set. Lead posts the `funding` user credit transaction within seconds. |

There is no `rejected` status in v2. A request that fails the create checks returns an error and creates no funding. Once Lead accepts a funding, it always reaches `posted`. If you're coming from v0, see [Coming from the v0 Fundings API](/v2/products/fundings/funding-object#coming-from-the-v0-fundings-api).

## Observing changes

* **`funding.posted` webhook.** Sent when the funding moves to `posted`. The payload is the funding object. This is your signal that money moved. The `funding` user credit transaction may still be a few seconds behind.
* **Polling.** `GET /v2/fundings/{id}` returns the current status.

## Sandbox

In sandbox, `POST /v2/fundings/{id}/advance` moves a `processing` funding to `posted`.
